Half Day Sewing Class

Give your child a creative, confidence‑building experience these school holidays with a Dusty Disco Ball sewing class in Melbourne.

Held in our friendly Seddon studio in Melbourne’s West, these small‑group workshops are the perfect introduction to sewing — or a chance for more experienced young makers to build on their skills.

Suitable for ages approximately 9 and up.

These will run for 2.5 hours at the Dusty Disco Ball studio upstairs at 84B Charles St Seddon

Available classes:

Introduction to Sewing - Make a Coaster and Scrunchie

Saturday September 26 - 9.30 am - 12 pm

Saturday October 3 - 1.00 pm - 3.30pm

Introduction to Sewing - Make a Custom Pillow Case

Saturday September 26 - 1.00 pm - 3.30pm

Saturday October 3 -   9.30 am - 12 pm

Prerequisites: Classes are suitable for beginner students with little or no sewing experience.

What you will learn: Students will learn the basics of how to thread a sewing machine, cut out their sewing project and sew straight lines.

What to bring: You may bring along your own sewing machine to learn on, or borrow one of my vintage sewing machines for the day.

All materials are supplied for the Coaster and Scrunchie projects.

If students would like to bring their own fabric for the pillow case, please bring along one metre of cotton fabric (craft cotton is fine for summer or you may like to choose flannelette for winter) plus an additional 20 cm in contrast fabric. I also recommend washing your fabric in cold water on a short cycle to eliminate shrinkage.

Upcycled fabrics and scraps will be also supplied for students to use.

Students can also bring along a snack and a water bottle for a break.

If you have any questions or trouble booking, contact me on 0419155380.
