Beginner Sewing Class: Kids Cape (2 hours)

Want to make a fabulous kids cape for yourself or a family member? This is the class for you! 

You will learn: How to make a reversible lined cape, use an overlocker and add trims and fastenings.

Prerequisites: This is a confident beginner class. If you have never touched a sewing machine before, let me know. In general I recommend starting with the Coaster class before tackling slightly more complex projects.

What to bring: If you have a sewing machine that you would like to learn on, please bring it along. Otherwise you are welcome to use one of my collection of vintage machines. 

Fabric required: Using knit fabrics (148 cm wide) you will need 50cm for the outside and 50 cm for the lining. If you want to add fringes or trim to the lower edge, you’ll need 150 cm. A matching ribbon can be used for fastening (1 metre) or call me to discuss options. 

Your one-on-one class will be held in person at my workshop studio, 84b Charles St, Seddon. 

I can have up to two students in a beginner class but if you have a larger group, call to discuss options.
